We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Design Manager to support our engineering and design teams in delivering innovative solutions across various projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with experience in systems engineering, CAD software, and construction processes. The Assistant Design Manager will assist in overseeing design workflows, ensuring technical accuracy, and supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing detailed system designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.


• Support the creation of schematics and electrical engineering diagrams, ensuring compliance with industry standards.


• Collaborate with cross\-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering principles into cohesive project solutions.


• Contribute to the development of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and embedded systems using programming languages such as C, C\+\+, Python, and MATLAB.


• Perform root cause analysis on design issues or system failures, recommending corrective actions for continuous improvement.


• Participate in fabrication planning and oversee system maintenance procedures to ensure operational reliability.


• Assist in debugging complex systems and verifying system performance against specifications using GD\&T and other quality standards.


• Support product development initiatives by providing technical expertise on CAD modelling, system design optimisation, and fabrication techniques.


• Contribute to technical documentation including schematics, technical reports, and project specifications.


• Ensure all design activities adhere to safety standards and industry regulations.

• Proven experience in construction or systems engineering environments with a strong background in electrical or mechanical design.


• Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks is essential.


• Hands\-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Python programming, MATLAB, and C/C\+\+ is highly desirable.


• Knowledge of fabrication processes, debugging techniques, root cause analysis, GD\&T principles, and maintenance practices.


• Familiarity with schematics creation and interpretation within electrical or mechanical systems.


• Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts with the ability to integrate multiple disciplines into cohesive designs.


• Experience working on product development projects from initial concept through to manufacturing is advantageous.
