Assistant Controller
About the role
The AssistantController primarily assists the Controllers and Senior Controllers in their core responsibilities inthe administration of the funds management by the clients of IA\&RLuxembourg. In conjunction with aidingthe Controller, the Assistant Controller will also be responsible for reviewingand correcting the work of the SPV Accountant and/or the work produced andprovided by any affiliate of IA\&R Luxembourg that has been assigned theresponsibilities of the SPV Accountant.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain an accurate general ledgerof assigned funds, often as the reviewer of the SPV Accountant(s). Assist in preparing consolidatedfinancial statements (statement of financial position, income statement, andvarious other accounting statements). Research open accounting issues andliaise with the relevant parties to solve them. Assist in preparing monthly andquarterly reporting. Aggregate financial data on theportfolio level. Assistance to ad hoc project andGroup initiatives. Read and understand legal documentsand record business transactions. Assist the Controller in respondingto various audit or any third parties queries. Suppling tax advisors withinformation packs for the preparation of indirect and direct tax returns afterreview upon receipt from the SPV Accountant. Prepare the monthly/quarterly capitalavailability report. Prepare the monthly rechargingreconciliation. Education \& E xperience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,Finance or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of four years of relevantaccounting experience. Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills. Strong organizational and analyticalskills. Ability to provide efficient, timely,reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively presentinformation. Proven ability to communicateeffectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively withmanagement, employees, and clients. Must have the ability to conveyfinancial issues to non\-financial users. Ability to collect, analyze, andsummarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports. Financial Knowledge
Expert knowledge of GenerallyAccepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Requires knowledge of financial termsand principles. Ability to calculate intermediatefigures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basicfinancial analysis. Follows accounting practices toensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing IA\&R Luxembourgfinancial interests are protected. Reasoning Ability
Ability to comprehend, analyze, andinterpret documents. Ability to solve problems involvingseveral options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical andquantitative skills. Ability to interpret a variety ofinstructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. IT \& Systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suiteapplications. Experience with automated accountingand financial management systems. Compliance Principles
The jobholderwill also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls.This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keepingappropriate records, and where appropriate, by the timely implementation ofinternal and external audit points, including issues raised by the regulator.
The jobholderwill implement the compliance policy and procedures (the term “compliance”embraces all relevant financial services and laws, rules and codes that thebusiness has to comply with) this will be achieved by adhering to all relevantprocesses/procedures and completing the mandatory Company’s trainings in atimely manner, thus fostering a compliance culture within the Company.
