Assistant CDM Officer

You will assist the CDM Officer in the delivery of all Housing capital investment and other projects that will contribute to the delivery of the Scottish Housing Quality Standard and The Energy Efficiency Standard for Social Housing (EESSH) for Renfrewshire Council housing stock, focusing on legislation \& health \& safety requirements.

You will work with the relevant managers to ensure safe delivery of local programmes and individual projects, from initial preconstruction planning to completion. You will help to manage a number of contractors.

You will also be expected to provide client advisory services in accordance with the current Construction (Design \&; Management) Regulations, as applicable to the Council’s Housing Investment programmes and Asset Management strategy.

It is essential you have a NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards

and/or IOSH Managing Safely and willing to work towards NEBOSH General Certificate and/or NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety Certificate or IOSH equivalent.

Experience of working in a construction environment in a CDM capacity, understanding Client duties as the main duty holder is also essential.

You should also have experience of working with spreadsheets and a range of databases requiring IT skills.

You must have an awareness of most up to date CDM legislation and procedures, the ability to establish relationships with Clients/Designers, be innovative and have effective written \& verbal communication skills and be commercially aware.
