A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Buyer / Buyer to join our Commercial team.
Stonebridge Homes is a Leeds\-based house builder, operating throughout Yorkshire, the North\-East and Lincolnshire and has a well\-deserved reputation for building quality, high specification homes in sought after locations. As a Buyer/Assistant Buyer at Stonebridge Homes you will be an integral part of the Commercial team supporting the provision of cost\-effective supply chain management in line with our business plan and brand aspirations. You will manage/assist with the end to end buying process, negotiating and assessing products and supplies to gain commercially viable solutions and practices to maximise products.
We need someone who is proactive and able to support the business to continue to develop a high quality, reliable supply chain. You will be a skilled negotiator and relationship builder able to easily create solid relationships with external partners. You will also demonstrate high levels of self\-motivation, tenacity and resilience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage / assist with the material and supplier tendering process including the production and issue of detailed tender documents that include all relevant information, drawings and specifications
- Investigate and analyse new materials and building systems making recommendations where appropriate
- Manage / assist with site material budget. Regular 'material' on site stock counts
- Provide feedback to key colleagues on cost, quality and availability of materials
- Conduct key meetings agreeing specific materials and flow of material requirements, feeding into planning submission documentation
- Manage and monitor the supply of materials against requirements and quality standards
- Negotiate material and plant hire costs, payment terms, and best value maximising cost and quality
- Experience in a similar role
- Good working knowledge of the house building industry
- Significant working knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation
- Significant experience of supply chain management and negotiating with multiple suppliers
- IT literate, confident using a variety of systems (Coins system knowledge advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills
