Job title: Artwork \& Decoration Coordinator
Location: Andoversford, Cheltenham (GL54 4LB), on\-site
Hours: Full\-time, 37\.5 hours per week, \[Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:00]
Salary: from £26,000 per year, depending on experience
Every logo we put on a garment should look brilliant. You'll make sure it does.
Penguin Uniform is a Multi award winning branded clothing, embroidery and print business based near Cheltenham. We make workwear, uniforms and branded clothing for businesses across the UK, from sole traders to national teams.
We're also doing something most of our industry isn't: building AI into how we work. Our systems already handle much of the technical artwork prep, including vectorising logos, matching colours, sizing \& creating mockups. That frees us up to hire for what technology can't do, which is judgement, a good eye and looking after customers throughout the journey.
That's this role.
What you'll do:
You'll own the journey from a customer saying "here's our logo" to approved artwork that's ready for production. Day to day, that means you'll:
- Review every order: check what the customer has ordered (products, colours, logo placements, embroidery or print) against the artwork they've sent.
- Spot what won't work: detail too fine to embroider, colours that will disappear on a dark garment, a logo that won't fit between hi\-vis tapes, a low\-quality file.
- Pick up the phone: talk customers through any changes needed, and suggest better options when you see them. For example: "This would look sharper printed than embroidered," or "Have you thought about adding your logo to the back as well?"
- Make light artwork tweaks: adjust and prepare files using our tools and house sizing rules. No designing from scratch.
- Get proofs approved: send proofs, chase sign\-off and keep every job moving through our workflow.
- Hand over clean jobs: brief our embroidery digitisers and give our production team files they can run with confidently.
- Have a great visual eye. You can tell when something looks off, and explain why.
- Must be confident on the phone and enjoy helping people get to a better result
- Are conscientious and notice details other people might miss.
- Love ownership: you'd rather sort a problem out now than let it reach the production floor.
- Are comfortable learning new systems. We use CRM's, Adobe Suite \& our own AI tools, and we'll train you on all of them.
- Experience in print, embroidery, signage, promotional merchandise or workwear
- Basic skills in a Adobe Suite, Illustrator / Affinity or similar
- An understanding of what works in embroidery compared with print (DTF, vinyl and so on)
Why join us:
- Become part of an award winning team in Customer Excellence, to take our customer journey to another level.
- You'll work with AI tools that take the repetitive work off your plate, so you can focus on the parts that need a person.
- You'll be part of a business that's growing and doing things differently in a traditional industry.
- Your work directly shapes how customers see us and how they feel about their finished order.
Send your CV but more importantly a few lines about yourself. We read every application \& we are ready to hire the next team member today!
