We deliver design and development, application engineering, prototype manufacture, repair and consultancy at any stage in the life\-cycle of a system or product. We design, manufacture and supply a range of products for the needs of the world\-wide railway signalling, telecommunications and industrial control system industry. We now have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Apprentice Project Manager, based at our site in Stockport. As an Apprentice Project Manager you will assist in the delivery of railway technology projects, ensuring strict adherence to internal Quality Management Systems and UK railway standards. Working alongside 2 Engineering Project Managers, you will be supported with a blended training schedule, integrating on\-the\-job learning with formal academic instruction via an approved education provider. We are happy to support a structured progression from Level 3 to Level 6 to accommodate your needs, supported by experienced staff and Unipart Learning to boost your capability even further.
Key responsibilities of your role include but are not linited to:
- Maintain and update project schedules, resource allocations, and expenditure logs under direction using digital tools.
- Administer project documentation, ensuring all files are version\-controlled and compliant with company and industry standards.
- Update and monitor RAIDD (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, and Decisions) logs, escalating immediately to the presiding Project Manager.
- Assist in ensuring project methodologies are applied in accordance with internal Quality Management Systems.
- Supporting the Project Team in the preparation of compliance documentation required for gateway reviews and assurance processes.
- Understand and follow corporate policies concerning data protection, IP security, and commercial confidentiality.
- Coordinate and schedule internal and external project meetings.
- Capture precise, sound minutes and track subsequent action items to completion.
- Assist in the compilation of progress reports for executive review.
- Complete all academic and vocational requirements of the Project Management Apprenticeship framework within the stipulated timeframe.
- Proactively shadow Engineering Project Managers to understand change management, procurement, and supplier management processes.
- Assimilate knowledge of railway safety standards and technical constraints affecting product delivery.
