We are currently partnering exclusively with an independent housing provider, who are looking to appoint an Almshouse Manager on a permanent basis.

This will be a part-time position based in Kingston, the position will require you to work 22 – 30 hours per week over a minimum of four days. This is an office-based position with an FTE salary between £35,000 - £40,000.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of managing over 55s accommodations and who is able to build positive relationships with residents with the aim improving service delivery and independent living.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Line management of the Deputy Almshouse Manager

  • Managing a residential scheme of approximately 50 units, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service

  • Supporting residents to live independently, providing guidance and signposting to relevant services where required

  • Leading on community engagement activities to encourage resident involvement and promote wellbeing

  • Carrying out regular welfare checks, identifying any support or safeguarding concerns

  • Undertaking routine warden call testing and fire safety checks in line with health and safety requirements

  • Responding to and managing low-level anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases appropriately

  • Reporting repairs and monitoring progress, liaising with contractors to ensure timely completion

  • Overseeing the turnaround of void properties, ensuring they are ready for re-let within agreed timescales

  • Monitoring tenants rent accounts and chase tenants rent arrears

  • Signposting customers to additional support providers

  • Dealing with general estate and tenancy management

Experience required:
  • Experience managing over 55s housing scheme

  • Experience in driving resident involvement

  • Experience with line management

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Excellent IT skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working hours:
  • Up to 30 hours p/w

  • Minimum of four days p/w
