We are seeking a skilled and motivated Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to join our Estates and Facilities team at a busy college campus in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and modification of air conditioning and ventilation systems across a range of educational, administrative, and commercial buildings.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent workmanship, and a commitment to maintaining safe and efficient working environments for staff, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Install air conditioning, ventilation, and associated mechanical systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Carry out installation of split systems, VRV/VRF systems, multi\-split systems, and associated pipework and controls.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans.
- Commission newly installed systems and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct pressure testing, vacuum testing, and refrigerant charging.
- Liaise effectively with project managers, contractors, college staff, and external suppliers.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities and completed works.
- Adhere to Health \& Safety legislation, risk assessments, and college policies at all times.
- Support planned maintenance activities and provide technical assistance when required.
- Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Installation Engineer.
- Relevant industry qualifications in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
- Valid F\-Gas Certification.
- Sound knowledge of HVAC installation techniques and best practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong problem\-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working within educational, public sector, or commercial environments.
- IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
- CSCS Card.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Experience commissioning VRF/VRV systems.
