Accounts Manager (China Market)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to focus on client relationship management, business development, marketing support, and cross\-border coordination between our London office and clients or professional contacts in China. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising and undertaking market research to meet the Firm‘s marketing and business development policies, and will handle client accounts in the China market.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing China\-based clients and referral sources;
2\. Support communications between the London office and China\-based clients, contacts, and stakeholders;
3\. Assist with business development initiatives targeting Chinese corporates, investors, financial institutions, and professional advisers;
4\. Identify potential new business opportunities and strategic partnerships;
5\. Coordinate communications and relationship management activities between Han Kun LLP and relevant contacts in China;
6\. Assist with marketing activities, client events, seminars, and relationship\-building initiatives;
7\. Support client onboarding and ongoing client relationship management processes;
8\. Provide cultural, commercial, and market insight relating to Chinese clients and business practices;
9\. Liaise with senior staff to contribute to the development of business development strategies and identify the range of services to be promoted to the China market.
10\. Undertake market research, analyse client feedback and market trends, and prepare proposals for marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
The role will not involve providing English legal advice, supervising legal work, carrying out reserved legal activities, accepting legal instructions, agreeing legal fees, or otherwise acting in a legal capacity on behalf of the Firm.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
1\. Significant experience working with Chinese corporate clients and professional contacts (typically 7–9 years or more);
2\. Strong understanding of the Chinese business environment and professional services market;
3\. Established professional networks and relationship management experience;
4\. Native or near\-native Mandarin Chinese language capability and professional English language skills (written and spoken);
5\. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and business development abilities;
6\. Experience supporting cross\-border business relationships and commercial initiatives.
Desirable:
1\. Experience working in a law firm/legal background, professional services, or financial services environment;
2\. Knowledge of English legal services or cross\-border legal matters;
