SALARY: £40,000\-£45,000 (FTE)
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounts Manager to take responsibility for the day\-to\-day financial operations of the business.
This is a hands\-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, working independently and being involved across all areas of finance. You will work closely with the Directors, providing accurate financial information and highlighting any issues or opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage purchase and sales ledger processes.
- Raise sales invoices and manage supplier invoices and payments.
- Proactively manage credit control and outstanding debts.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Monitor cashflow and assist with cashflow forecasting.
- Prepare monthly management information, including P\&L and cashflow reports.
- Assist with month\-end and year\-end processes.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and manage related payments.
- Administer PAYE, National Insurance and payroll\-related finance processes.
- Process employee expenses.
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, banks and external accountants.
- Identify discrepancies and improve financial processes and controls.
- Provide financial information and support to the Directors as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure financial procedures are followed.
You will ideally have:
- 3\+ years' UK experience in an accounts or finance role.
- Strong bookkeeping and accounting experience.
- Experience with purchase and sales ledger and credit control.
- Experience with VAT, PAYE and reconciliations.
- Experience assisting with month\-end and management accounts.
- Strong Xero and Excel skills.
- AAT or relevant accounting qualification/study would be desirable.
- Experience within an SME environment would be advantageous.We are looking for someone who is:
