In this role, you'll be pivotal to ensuring that our corporate and business strategies are supported by the very best financial accounting and control processes – and that these processes continually maximise our profitability and efficiency.
This role will give you a solid grounding in management accounting and enable you to gain knowledge of a range of different commercial areas across the business.
Your role

- Accurate and timely preparation of financial information for reporting internally and externally, including adherence of group accounting policies and procedures and managing the related financial control environment
- Working as part of a team to deliver the above for our Retail and Employment Costs sides of the business
- Posting of journals, reconciling Balance Sheet accounts and validating supplier income
- Ensuring accuracy of financial data through efficient controls to help support analysis of business performance with Commercial Finance teams.
- Customer focussed; ensure we deliver great service to our customers
- Use ingenuity to implement change for the better and work with a continuous improvement mindset.

- Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience within a relevant discipline
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adapt to and learn from change, challenges, and feedback
- A talent for problem solving and the ability to apply judgement based on the situation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Ability to work flexibly with changing work demands and tasks
- A customer focused attitude and be happy to help

Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
