As an Account Manager you will join our dynamic and progressive team to focus on the expansion of an existing customer base and introduction of new opportunities across the region. The ideal candidate will deliver value based procurement programs designed to support a health care systems needs.
They will be responsible for maintaining and growing our Infection Prevention and Biosurgery portfolios across the sales territory whilst working collaboratively with the Advance Repair \& Reconstruction team to position BD Surgery as a partner in the complete surgical patient pathway.
The successful applicant must bepreparedto travel up to 80% of their time within their territory.
Territory (negotiable): Midlands across to the East of England (Birmingham, Worcester, Northampton, Peterborough, King’s Lynn, Leicester and Cambridge)
Job Responsibilities:
You will be accountable for both maintaining existing business and acquiring new customers within your territory, delivering against defined sales targets through proactive and strategic activity:
- Execute the territory sales strategy in line with business unit objectives
- Manage the full sales cycle, including needs identification, solution development, product positioning, evaluations, contract negotiation, and closing opportunities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive sustainable growth
- Represent BD at relevant regional, national, and international congresses and events
- Deliver high\-quality clinical education and in\-field support to healthcare professionals
- Support marketing\-led initiatives, including training and coaching programmes
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform territory planning
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to support clinical advancement and improved patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate CRM records to effectively manage territory performance and pipeline visibility
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ sales experience (medical device or healthcare experience desirable but not essential)
- Exposure to operating theatre environments would be advantageous
- Degree or diploma in a clinical, scientific, or business\-related field preferred
- Full UK driving licence required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders
- Solid understanding of consultative / solution\-based selling approaches
- Highly organised with effective territory planning and prioritisation skills
- Self\-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a commercial mindset and entrepreneurial approach
- Ability to think creatively and respond to changing market dynamics
