Prodigy IT Solutions is the outsourced IT department for small and medium\-sized businesses across a wide range of industries. We deliver IT, but customer service is what sits at the centre of what we do: clear advice, no jargon, and relationships that last years rather than months.

Right now, we're delivering AI solutions alongside our core managed IT services. We work in a consultative way and focus on client outcomes: helping businesses work more efficiently, save time and get more from their technology. For us, that means keeping clients' operations running and secure, and also making them more automated and efficient. We're growing too, picking up further accreditations and opening new offices. We're looking for an Account Manager who can build strong client relationships and bring in new business through trust, not sales scripts.

You don't need an IT background for this role. If you're an experienced account manager in another industry who works in a consultative, relationship\-led way, and you'd like a long\-term career in technology, we'll give you the product and solutions training you need.

A Bit About Us

Our HQ is in Blandford Forum and we have a second office in Bournemouth. We've supported Dorset businesses with IT support, cyber security, cloud services and, more recently, AI solutions for over 20 years. Our clients are very loyal and come from professional services, education, manufacturing, hospitality and the charity sector.

The plan now is to keep growing: more offices, more accreditations and a bigger presence across the region.

Who This Role Suits

You might be managing accounts in telecoms, office equipment, print, business services, utilities, facilities, recruitment or another B2B sector. What matters is how you work, not what you've sold. You already:

  • Look after a portfolio of business clients and grow it

  • Hold regular review meetings and conversations with decision makers

  • Listen first, then recommend the right solution

  • Put together accurate quotes and proposals

  • Put your clients first and take pride in the service you give

  • Enjoy working with marketing to create opportunities, not just follow them up
If that sounds like you, the technology can be learned. We'll teach it.

What You'd Actually Be Doing

This isn't a cold\-calling role, and it isn't order processing either. You'd be:

  • The main commercial contact for a portfolio of existing clients

  • Getting to know each client's business well enough to spot where we can help, whether that's a project, a renewal or a new service

  • Taking a consultative approach with clients, focused on outcomes, and showing them how AI solutions, automation and the right technology can save them time, improve efficiency and keep them secure

  • Bringing in new business through referrals, networking and prospect meetings, without scripts or pressure

  • Working closely with our Marketing Executive to promote our products and solutions, from campaigns and events to case studies and client communications

  • Working alongside our technical teams so that what you propose can actually be delivered

  • Putting together clear, professional proposals and quotes

  • Managing renewals for software, licensing and support agreements

  • Coordinating the supply of hardware, equipment and software across a handful of vendors
What We're Looking For
  • Proven account management experience in a B2B environment (any industry)

  • Strong commercial awareness: you understand value and margin, and you can spot an opportunity

  • Confident communicator: comfortable in meetings with business owners, directors and senior stakeholders

  • A good listener who asks the right questions before suggesting anything

  • Organised with good attention to detail, especially when producing quotes and managing renewals

  • Customer service at heart: relationship\-led, never pushy

  • A real eagerness to learn. You'll pick up IT solutions, cyber security, AI and hardware supply quickly in a fast\-paced environment

  • An interest in technology is a bonus, but we'll give you the training
Training and Development

We'll invest properly in the right person. You'll get:

  • A structured introduction to our services, from managed IT and cloud to cyber security, AI and hardware

  • Time working alongside our engineers, service team and Marketing Executive so you learn how things work in practice

  • Microsoft training and certifications

  • Ongoing soft skills and professional development
Life at Prodigy

We hold a regular evening Teams update where the Directors talk openly about how the business is doing, and everyone is encouraged to ask questions. There are regular team outings too, so it's not all work.

What You'd Get

  • Performance\-related bonus, OTE £60,000

  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Company\-paid home broadband

  • Microsoft training and certifications

  • Laptop, monitors, keyboard and mouse provided

  • Regular staff outings

  • Free on\-site parking
Work location: In person, Blandford Forum HQ
