Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Helpdesk Engineer to provide technical support and assistance to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, supporting end\-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about technology and customer service to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
This job will predominantly be office based but will require trips to client sites on a regular basis, therefore a car owner and full uk driving licence is required.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to IT support requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end\-users.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Assist with setting up new equipment and ensuring proper functioning before deployment.
- Document solutions and maintain accurate records of support activities.
- Provide guidance and training to users on IT best practices and system utilisation.
- Collaborate with the IT team on projects aimed at improving infrastructure and security.
- Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary.
- Attend client sites as required to resolve issues and install equipment.
- Proven experience in a helpdesk or technical support role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of primarily Windows, but also macOS, and good knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN, WAN, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Excellent problem\-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non\-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Nice\-to\-have: certifications such as CompTIA A\+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar qualifications.
