The Role A thriving and oversubscribed primary school in Toxteth is seeking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil requires substantial support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly in relation to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to deliver tailored support strategies that meet the pupil’s individual needs, both within the classroom and in alternative settings across the school. There may also be occasions where you will support other pupils with additional needs.

Working in partnership with the class teacher and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) will be essential in identifying barriers to learning, monitoring progress, and supporting both academic achievement and personal development.

While previous experience supporting a child on a 1:1 basis with an EHCP would be advantageous, we welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience supporting children or adults with complex needs.
