Workshop Engineer

As a result of a thriving partnership with the leading manufacturer of forklift trucks, C\&D Fork Trucks Ltd is looking to recruit Workshop Engineers to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and other materials handling equipment. The engineer is required to join the Workshop Service team in completing jobs.

In this role, you will be cleaning, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing forklifts, and completing detailed reports on the status of the job.

The Job

• Service, maintenance and repair (full refurbishment) of a variety of forklift truck brands and models as well as other warehouse equipment


• Undertaking Thorough Examination and certification of forklift trucks


• Responsibility for accurately sourcing spare parts


• Following safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times


• From time to time undertaking other workshop duties

The Person:

• Ideally based in the Hertfordshire area


• Full UK driving licence


• Experience as an automotive technician (VW/Audi), servicing, repairing or maintaining materials handling equipment (MHE), construction plant, agricultural machinery or power access equipment (MEWP) or forklift trucks


• Basic electrical knowledge would be a benefit


• Excellent customer service skills


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The Package:

• Salary: dependent on experience


• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm


• 20 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
