Will Writing & Estate Planning Adviser
Build a professional career in estate planning
Taylor Lucas Partnership is looking for a confident, commercially minded adviser who can build trust, explain sensitive subjects clearly and help clients make important decisions about their future.
You do not need previous experience in Will writing or estate planning. We provide three weeks of structured, office\-based training, followed by ongoing technical, compliance and sales support.
What you do need is a strong professional presence, excellent client communication, close attention to detail and the ability to convert suitable recommendations into business.
You will receive approximately 18 pre\-qualified appointments per full working week. These clients have specifically requested will\-writing \& estate\-planning advice, understand that some services carry a fee and have supplied information before their appointment.
There is no cold calling and no requirement to generate your own leads.
Earnings and commission
This role offers a basic salary of £24,785 plus a transparent, uncapped commission structure.
Realistic total earnings are £36,000–£50,000, with £50,000\+ potential for top performers. Recent adviser performance would produce annualised total earnings of approximately £43,000 under the current commission structure.
New starters benefit from a supportive introductory commission arrangement during their three\-month probation while completing training and building towards full performance expectations.
Commission is paid with your salary on the 28th of each month, based on revenue banked during the previous commission period.
Full details of the commission structure, payment arrangements and performance expectations will be explained openly during the interview process.
What you will do
You will:

- Complete a detailed fact\-find and help clients build a Will that reflects their circumstances and wishes

- Explain potentially complex and sensitive subjects in clear, straightforward language
- Prepare initial drafts and detailed instructions for review by our legal team
- Produce accurate attendance notes and maintain complete compliance records

- Identify appropriate additional needs and referral opportunities
- Remain the client’s main representative throughout their case
- Answer questions, explain documents, arrange amendments and maintain contact until completion
- Work closely with our legal, compliance and training teams to deliver the right client outcome
What we are looking for
Estate\-planning experience is welcome but not essential. We are interested in candidates from consultative sales and advisory backgrounds such as financial services, mortgage advice, insurance, estate agency, legal services, funeral planning, recruitment and other high\-value or high\-trust sales environments.
You will need:

- The confidence and professional presence to lead client meetings by video
- The ability to build trust and rapport quickly
- Clear, concise communication without overcomplicating or overexplaining
- The confidence to make recommendations and ask clients to proceed
- Empathy when discussing personal, financial and family circumstances
- Strong administration and attention to detail
- The ability to follow structured processes and compliance requirements
- Consistency, enthusiasm and personal accountability
- Good organisation and time management
- Confidence using CRM, video\-conferencing and document\-production systems
- A private, confidential home\-office environment
- A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and business\-use insurance
- The existing right to work in the UK

Your first three weeks will be spent at our Cannock office completing a combination of classroom learning, online training, observation and practical exercises.

Following probation, we will fund your Institute of Professional Willwriters membership.
There is a defined progression route from Adviser to Senior Adviser and Senior Associate. Members of our current adviser team have already progressed within the business, and opportunities may also develop in training, technical work and team leadership.
