Web Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing engaging, user\-friendly websites that align with our brand identity and business objectives. This role involves collaborating with cross\-functional teams to develop visually appealing digital solutions, ensuring optimal user experience across various devices and platforms. The successful applicant will utilise their expertise in both graphic and web design, with a strong focus on front\-end development and usability principles.

Duties

• Develop innovative website layouts and visual designs using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, and Figma.


• Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups employing Axure, Balsamiq, InVision, and Visio to communicate design ideas effectively.


• Implement responsive web designs using HTML, CSS, SCSS, Less (style sheet language), Bootstrap, and other front\-end frameworks to ensure compatibility across devices.


• Collaborate with developers to integrate designs into content management systems like WordPress and Drupal, utilising PHP, MySQL, and Node.js where necessary.


• Conduct user research and usability testing to refine interface designs based on data analysis from tools such as Google Analytics.


• Optimise websites for SEO best practices and performance metrics by applying knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, React, Redux, Angular, and Vue.js.


• Maintain existing websites through regular updates, website maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting using tools like Adobe Dreamweaver and SharePoint.


• Ensure all web projects adhere to accessibility standards and information architecture principles for enhanced usability.


• Stay current with emerging trends in web design, UX/UI principles, and new technologies such as VHDL or Vite to continuously improve digital offerings.

• Proven experience in digital design with a strong portfolio showcasing website projects.


• Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Adobe After Effects, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Flash.


• Skilled in front\-end development languages such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including frameworks like React or Angular), PHP, SQL/MySQL databases.


• Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress and Drupal; experience with website maintenance is desirable.


• Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles along with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Balsamiq or InVision.


• Knowledge of SEO optimisation techniques and analytics tools like Google Analytics.


• Experience working with responsive web design frameworks such as Bootstrap or Telerik.


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.


• Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams including developers, content creators, and marketing professionals.
