Salary £25,000\.00 \- £28,000\.00 p.a.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast\-paced environment whilst adhering to safety protocols.
Who we are
\- Lightwood PLC’s operates NINE warehouses, totaling over 150,000 sq.ft. of secured covered warehousing in the CM6, CM7, CM16 and CM17 Postcodes.
\- A mixture of racking, floor space and dedicated areas.
\- External storage available.
\- FOUR of our sites have HMRC Type A approved customs warehousing
\- TWO of our sites are Organically Accredited.
\- TWO of our sites are Food Registered.
\- All units are located on secure gated commercial estates, are fully alarmed (BT, Redcare, with Police response), and are covered by our centrally\-controlled CCTV systems.
Duty hours can fluctuate, however will be primarily 9 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
The role
\- Full time, permanent position.
\- Monday to Friday
\- 9\-hour day shifts (paid varying start/finish times)
\- Monthly Pay
The job duties
\- General warehouse operative duties.
\- Capable to learn to drive and operate forklifts and reach trucks.
\- Ability to pick and pack and palletise orders.
\- Ability to load/unload loose boxes/items by hand.
\-Ability to unload handball containers.
\- Travel to/from various sites.
\- Communicate well with others.
\- Operate other warehouse equipment, including PPT's and manual pallet trucks, to load and unload goods.
\- Perform picking and packing of orders accurately and efficiently.
\- Assist with shipping and receiving process, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly documented.
\- Maintain an organised warehouse environment by keeping stock in designated areas and ensuring cleanliness.
\- Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies as needed.
\- Handle materials with care, ensuring compliance with safety regulations during heavy lifting tasks.
\- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Salary based on experience and capabilities to fulfil job duties.

\- Flexible to start earlier or work later during busy periods.
\- Flexible approach to duty days, odd occasions for weekend and Public Holiday working.
\- Fit and healthy
\- Must have own use vehicle for travel to/from our sites located in CM6, CM7, CM16 \& CM17 postcodes. The role will primarily be based in CM6\.
Experience
\- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safe practices is essential.
\- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively individually and within a team environment.
\- Basic mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment.
\- Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including knowledge of packing methods
\- Previous experience in a warehouse setting.
\- Proficiency in using forklifts.
