JOB TITLE: WAREHOUSE \& TRANSPORT OPERATIVE
RESPONSIBLE TO: TRANSPORT MANAGER
JOB PURPOSE: To support the safe, accurate and efficient handling, storage and movement of customer goods within the warehouse and during transport operations. The Warehouse \& Transport Operative will assist with loading and unloading vehicles, organising goods using a forklift truck, maintaining good warehouse standards, and carrying out van deliveries as required to ensure customer goods are managed and delivered securely and on time.
SALARY: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum
HOURS: Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm.
HOLIDAY: 22 Days \+ Bank Holidays. From 3 years’ service to 5 years’ service you will gain an additional day holiday capped at 25 days. You will also have the opportunity to buy up to 1 additional week of holiday per year and sell holiday.
PLACE OF WORK: HEAD OFFICE which is located at Unit K1, Pitfield, Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes, MK11 3LW.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience in Warehousing, Logistics and Driving.
- Must hold a valid FLT licence
- Must hold a full driving licence.
- Basic IT skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Able to carry out heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.

Ø Load and unload trailers, vans and other vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring goods are handled with care and in line with company procedures.
Ø Use a forklift truck to move, organise, store and retrieve customer goods within the warehouse, ensuring goods are placed in the correct locations.
Ø Receive, check, label and store customer goods accurately, reporting any discrepancies, damage or issues to management promptly.
Ø Pick, prepare and dispatch goods accurately and securely, ensuring all items are ready for collection or delivery within required timescales.
Ø Carry out general warehousing duties, including stock movement, stock organisation, housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe and orderly working environment.
Ø Support the accurate completion of relevant warehouse, transport and dispatch documentation as required.
Ø Make customer deliveries using a company van when required, ensuring goods are transported safely, securely and professionally.
Ø Follow all health and safety requirements, including manual handling, forklift truck operation, loading practices and safe movement of goods.
Ø Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager and wider team regarding workload, delivery requirements, stock movements and any operational issues.
Ø Carry out any other reasonable warehouse, transport or logistics duties as required by management from time to time.
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Assist in development and promote the culture of continuous improvement, thereby recommending and implementing authorized changes.
Ø Comply with Health \& Safety regulations at all times.
Ø Maintain good housekeeping of the department including the equipment within it.
Ø Ensure high standards of conduct, appearance and behavior are met at all times.
Ø Communicate effectively with all team members, colleagues and management team.
Ø Participate in the company stock takes when necessary.
In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the jobholder is required to perform any other duty requested by Management from time to time.
