Warehouse, Production and Sales Assistant required to join a 2 person team working at Bisque Direct. Walking distance from Basingstoke town centre and train station.
Bisque Direct provide a personalised service to a very unique Industry \- The Paint Your Own Ceramics Studios (shops) and Finished Work Producers. We provide a professional service supporting the supply chain function for other small businesses. Attention to detail when packing and shipping products sets set us apart for our competition. We are looking for someone to join us to pack orders placed on the website, discuss any details with customers' arrange shipping and payment, assist in production of ceramic colour and glaze products.
You do not need to have specific experience in warehouse or production work but this would be helpful. We are looking for a self motivated person able to remain focused on the job at hand. Physically fit as we spend most of our day on our feet. Apple computer skills would be an advantage however full training on the systems we use will be provided. Most computer work is order processing in the backend of the website and email communication with customers.
If you have an interest in arts and crafts then this job would suit you well. We provide blank (bisque) ceramics products for people to paint. Once painted the items are fired in a kiln ready for customers to return to collect. Finished items can be used at home like normal everyday ceramics. This is the process our customers undertake as their main business activity. You will be involved in some testing of products.
January 2026 we moved into a new to us warehouse and are looking forward to growing the business. You will be a key figure in achieving this growth.
General Duties
Picking and packing orders in the warehouse for transportation.
Loading orders onto the transport lorry.
Talking to customers about our products, once you are confident and knowledgeable about the products.
Unloading container deliveries and putting stock away. Forklift driving involved. Forklift training will be provide if you do not have a licence.
Processing orders in the sales office from our website. This involves working on a computer.
Preparing the paints and glazes used by our customers.
Working as a team member. Keep in mind we are a team of 2\.
To ensure the warehouse is maintained in a neat orderly fashion.
Provide cover for absent colleagues as required.
Any other duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business.
Sweeping and mopping the floor. Keeping the office, kitchen and toilet areas clean.
Skills and experience required
Conscientious, reliable, with good attendance and timekeeping.
Previous warehouse or sales experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Honest, trustworthy, able to work unsupervised
Keen to learn and acquire new skills.
Demonstrates initiative and contributes ideas.
Positive approach to working in a small team.
Flexible, adaptable, and calm when working under pressure.
Not distracted by mobile phone usage during work hours.
Proposed work hours are Tuesday to Saturday 9am till 5\.30pm. Lunch break 1/2 hour.
This is an exciting role for someone who is self motivated and looking for something slightly different in the way of warehouse work. Be able to work unsupervised and remain focused on the tasks at hand. A competitive salary of £30\.160\.00 for a motivated Sales, Warehouse and Production Assistant.
