Warehouse Operative

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping \& receiving. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic logistics environment, contributing to the overall success of our operations. The position involves physical work, including heavy lifting, and requires attention to detail and safety compliance. All roles are paid positions, including internships.

Responsibilities

• Handling materials efficiently and safely within the warehouse environment


• Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery (training provided)


• Managing stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS)


• Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch


• Loading and unloading lorries with goods, ensuring proper handling techniques


• Organising stock storage areas through stocking and replenishment activities


• Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet standards


• Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling


• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times


• Supporting mechanical tasks as required, utilising basic mechanical knowledge

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary equipment and systems


• Knowledge of materials handling procedures and forklift operation is advantageous


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently


• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and quality control tasks


• Mechanical aptitude or knowledge is a plus for supporting equipment maintenance tasks


• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team


• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and perform load \& unload duties effectively

Pay: £12\.21\-£19\.50 per hour
