Warehouse Operative

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our busy logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the efficient handling of materials, ensuring smooth operations within the warehouse environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic and supportive organisation, with responsibilities spanning from stock management to shipping and receiving. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

• Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers


• Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery (training provided)


• Managing stock levels using a warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records


• Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer requirements


• Organising stock storage areas, ensuring items are properly stocked and accessible


• Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity


• Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling


• Performing routine mechanical checks on equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency


• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided


• Familiarity with materials handling techniques and warehouse management systems is desirable


• Experience operating forklifts or other mechanical handling equipment is a plus (certification preferred)


• Knowledge of shipping \& receiving procedures, picking \& packing, and stock management is beneficial


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift


• Mechanical knowledge or understanding of warehouse equipment will be considered an asset


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks

Pay: £12\.50\-£17\.00 per hour
