About Us

Mission Express is a UK\-based logistics provider delivering UK overnight, international express, worldwide freight, storage, and fulfilment/eCommerce solutions to clients across multiple sectors. We're growing our operations team and looking for a hands\-on, reliable Operations Clerk to join us.

The Role

This is a hands\-on operational role based at our depot — much of your day will involve handling, sorting, and lifting parcels and consignments. You'll also support general administrative tasks to keep shipments moving smoothly. It's a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long\-term career in logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Physically handle, sort, and lift parcels and consignments — this is the core, day\-to\-day part of the role


• Load and unload vehicles, ensuring goods are handled safely and correctly


• Process bookings, consignments, and shipment documentation accurately and on time


• Scan, label, and track parcels through internal systems


• Liaise with drivers, carriers, and depot staff to keep shipments moving


• Maintain accurate records on internal IT systems


• Handle customer and driver queries professionally, by phone and in person


• Monitor shipment status and proactively flag delays or issues


• Support the wider team with general administrative duties


• Keep the work area tidy, safe, and compliant with health \& safety standards

What We're Looking For

• Comfortable with regular manual handling and lifting parcels/packages (some of which may be heavy) throughout the shift


• Previous experience in an operations, warehouse, or logistics role


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities


• A proactive, can\-do attitude and willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

This role involves regular manual handling, including lifting, carrying, and moving parcels of varying weights and sizes. Candidates should be physically able to meet these demands as a routine part of the working day.
