Warehouse Operative

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves handling a variety of warehouse tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our facility. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity in a fast\-paced environment. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right individual. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in materials handling, stock management, and warehouse operations.

Duties

• Handling materials throughout the warehouse, including loading and unloading lorries using appropriate equipment such as forklifts


• Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, stock movements, and order processing


• Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications and deadlines


• Stocking shelves and organising stock to optimise space utilisation and accessibility


• Assisting with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all goods are correctly documented and stored


• Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards


• Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting


• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times, including safe manual handling practices


• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided


• Knowledge of materials handling techniques and the operation of forklifts is desirable


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software is beneficial


• Practical understanding of shipping \& receiving processes, picking \& packing, and stock control procedures


• Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of warehouse equipment maintenance is a plus


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfilment and inventory management
