Warehouse Operative

A Warehouse Operative at KPT Solutions is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of goods within the warehouse and yard. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing, dispatching items, stocktaking, and other general warehouse duties, as well as maintaining a clean and organised site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving and Storage:

Unloading deliveries and collections ensuring the received product and quantities match the paperwork, checking for damaged or missing items, and storing goods in designated locations.

• Order Fulfilment:

Picking items from storage, packing them securely for shipment, preparing them for dispatch in designated loading bays and loading safely and accurately.

• Inventory Management:

Maintaining accurate stock levels, conducting regular stocktakes, and reporting discrepancies.

• Equipment Operation:

Using forklifts, pallet trucks, and other equipment to move and handle goods safely.

• General Warehouse Duties:

Keeping the warehouse clean, organized, and safe, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

• Physical Fitness:

The role often involves manual handling, lifting, and carrying, so a good level of physical fitness is required.

• Attention to Detail:

Accurate picking with quantities and quality of the products checked.

• Teamwork and Communication:

Working as part of a team and to communicate effectively.

• Organisational Skills:

Efficiently managing tasks, prioritizing work, and keeping the warehouse organised.

• Problem\-Solving:

Being able to identify and resolve issues related to stock, orders and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities

• Operating machinery including forklifts and pallet trucks.


• Adhering to health and safety regulations.


• Maintaining a clean and tidy warehouse.


• Assisting with other tasks as needed.


• Occasional Overtime when the business requires.


• Annual stocktake, usually on a Saturday


• Variable shifts as and when required by the business ranging from 07:00 \- 17:00 \& 08:00 \- 18:00\.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.


• Manage inventory using warehouse management systems.


• Handle materials, stock items, and assist with stocking activities.


• Perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.


• Prepare items for shipping and receiving.


• Load and unload materials at various sites.


• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.


• Support team members in daily warehouse operations.


• Qualifications


• Proven experience in warehouse operations or similar roles.


• Valid forklift license.


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems.


• Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus.


• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks.


• Excellent organizational skills.


• Knowledge of materials handling equipment.


• Construction industry experience is advantageous.
