Warehouse Operative

Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping \& receiving processes. Duties

• Handling materials efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques


• Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively


• Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking procedures


• Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods from lorries or containers


• Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records


• Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards


• Organising shipping and receiving documentation for outgoing and incoming goods


• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times


• Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks as required to ensure equipment functionality

Skills

• Proven experience in materials handling, picking \& packing, stock management, or similar roles within a warehouse setting


• Competence in operating forklift trucks and familiarity with warehouse machinery is highly desirable


• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing


• Strong understanding of shipping \& receiving procedures and documentation requirements


• Mechanical knowledge beneficial for basic maintenance or troubleshooting equipment issues


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during load \& unload operations


• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks


• Physical stamina to work in a physically demanding environment throughout shifts

Pay: £10\.85\-£12\.71 per hour
