Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a fast\-paced environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality standards. You will need to hold a full driving licence and be over 25 (due to insurance) Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The role involves working in a physically demanding environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Handling materials efficiently and safely across various stages of the warehouse process

  • Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations

  • Managing stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records

  • Loading and unloading lorries, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods

  • Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications

  • Stocking shelves and organising storage areas for optimal space utilisation

  • Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity

  • Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labelling

  • Performing mechanical checks on equipment and reporting any faults or issues promptly

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment to promote safety

  • Making deliveries to customers when needed
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all necessary tasks

  • Hold a full driving licence and be over 25 (due to insurance)

  • Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safe forklift operation is desirable

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software is beneficial

  • Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly

  • Mechanical aptitude or basic mechanical knowledge is a plus for equipment maintenance tasks

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality control

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the warehouse setting.
