Warehouse Operative
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a fast\-paced environment, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality standards. You will need to hold a full driving licence and be over 25 (due to insurance) Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The role involves working in a physically demanding environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across various stages of the warehouse process
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Managing stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
- Loading and unloading lorries, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer specifications
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas for optimal space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
- Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labelling
- Performing mechanical checks on equipment and reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment to promote safety
- Making deliveries to customers when needed
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all necessary tasks
- Hold a full driving licence and be over 25 (due to insurance)
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safe forklift operation is desirable
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software is beneficial
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly
- Mechanical aptitude or basic mechanical knowledge is a plus for equipment maintenance tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality control
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the warehouse setting.
Pay: £13\.00 per hour
