Warehouse Operative

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. The role involves working with various warehouse systems and equipment, contributing to efficient shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse, including loading and unloading goods from lorries


• Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery in compliance with health and safety regulations


• Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking activities


• Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly


• Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards


• Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods


• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times


• Supporting mechanical tasks when required, including basic maintenance or troubleshooting of equipment


• Ensuring all warehouse operations adhere to safety protocols and company policies

Experience

• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates


• Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is advantageous


• Knowledge of warehouse management systems or similar software is desirable


• Experience in shipping \& receiving, picking \& packing, stocking, or quality control will be considered a plus


• Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment maintenance is beneficial


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and inventory management
