Warehouse Operative

Direct4Pet is one of the UK's fastest\-growing online pet retailers, shipping over 1\.5m orders a year to pet owners across the country. We're part of Black Cat Medicines, a family\-run veterinary business established in 1985, so the standards we hold ourselves to on quality, accuracy and customer care come straight from the practice floor.

We're growing, and we need more good people in the warehouse to keep up.

The role

You'll be part of the team that gets every order out of the door correctly and on time. That means picking and packing customer orders using handheld scanners, checking accuracy before dispatch, booking in deliveries from suppliers, putting stock away and keeping the warehouse tidy and safe. Some days you'll be on the pick lines, some days on goods\-in or replenishment; we move people around so nobody is stuck doing one thing.

It's a fast\-paced environment with daily carrier cut\-offs, so you'll need to work at pace without letting accuracy slip. You don't need warehouse experience to apply — we'll train you — but you do need to be reliable, careful and happy on your feet all day.

Shifts available

· Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday off.

· Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off.

Patterns available:

· 6:00am – 2:30pm

· 9:00am – 5:30pm

· 11:30am – 8:00pm

What you'll be doing

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately and to daily dispatch deadlines


• Scanning stock in and out using our warehouse management system


• Unloading deliveries, checking goods in and putting stock away


• Replenishing pick locations and helping with stock counts


• Loading outbound parcels and pallets for carrier collections


• Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe


• Following health and safety procedures at all times

• Reliable, punctual and able to commit to the shift pattern including a Saturday or Sunday


• Good attention to detail — a wrong item in a parcel matters to the customer and to us


• Comfortable with repetitive physical work, including lifting and being on your feet for a full shift


• A team player who communicates clearly


• Warehouse, retail stockroom or logistics experience is welcome but not required


• A counterbalance or reach forklift licence is a bonus, not a must
