Warehouse Operative

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a fast\-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities

• Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers


• Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery, must have certification and training


• Managing stock levels using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software to ensure accurate inventory records


• Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring quality standards are maintained


• Organising stock storage areas, replenishing shelves, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace


• Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and label creation


• Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods to meet company standards


• Performing heavy lifting as required, adhering to health and safety guidelines


• Supporting mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance when necessary

Requirements

• Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment such as forklifts


• Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures in a warehouse setting


• Ability to load and unload goods efficiently while maintaining safety standards


• Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse machinery is a plus


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock management and order accuracy


• Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts


• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team


• Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational needs
