Purpose of the Role:
The Warehouse Operative is responsible for supporting the day\-to\-day warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods. The role involves working as part of a team to maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and productivity within the warehouse environment.
The successful candidate will be reliable, hardworking, and committed to ensuring all warehouse processes are carried out safely and efficiently. The role will involve manual handling and the movement of goods and pallets.
Main Duties
- Receive, unload, and check incoming deliveries against documentation.
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with customer requirements.
- Ensure goods are stored correctly and safely within designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles as required.
- Support stock control processes including stock counts and inventory checks.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and general housekeeping standards within the warehouse.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Operate warehouse equipment (where trained and authorised).
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily operational targets and deadlines.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required to support the wider team.
- Accompany drivers and assist with deliveries / installs (when required).
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred but not essential.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 25kg.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good time management and reliability.
- Good communication skills.
Skills Required \- Desirable
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (e.g. B1\).
- Experience using warehouse management or inventory systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within a warehouse environment.
- Experience in logistics, distribution, or fulfilment operations.
Pay: £13\.54\-£13\.79 per hour
Expected hours: 37\.5 per week
