Warehouse Manager

Gowan Home, a leading distributor of products and services to the kitchen, electrical and building materials industries in Ireland are seeking to recruit a Warehouse Manager for their busy operation in Citywest. We distribute several exclusive premium brands, including Bertazzoni, Elica, Franke, HiSense, Ninja, NordMende and Shark.

This role will report to the Operations Director.

Role Purpose

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and developing Gowan Home’s end\-to\-end distribution centre operation to ensure the safe, efficient and cost\-effective storage and distribution of goods across all channels.

The role has overall responsibility for warehouse strategy, operational performance, inventory management, third\-party logistics (3PL) relationships, people management and continuous improvement initiatives. The Warehouse Manager will ensure that warehouse operations support the Company’s commercial objectives while delivering high levels of customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Distribution Centre Strategy:

• Develop and implement the overall warehouse and distribution centre strategy in line with business objectives.


• Identify and deliver operational improvements that increase productivity, service levels and cost efficiency.


• Lead warehouse transformation, automation and digitalisation initiatives where appropriate.


• Develop annual operational plans, budgets and resource requirements.


• Ensure the distribution centre has the capacity, capability and processes to support future growth.

Warehouse Operations:

• Manage all day\-to\-day warehouse activities, including goods\-in, put\-away, storage, inventory control, picking, packing and dispatch.


• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered within agreed service levels.


• Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions where required.


• Develop and maintain efficient warehouse layouts and storage solutions.


• Ensure effective stock rotation and inventory accuracy processes.

Third\-Party (3PL) Management:

• Manage relationships with all third\-party logistics providers and contracted warehousing services.


• Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).


• Conduct regular performance reviews with 3PL partners.


• Identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs and enhance operational efficiency.

People Leadership:

• Lead, coach and develop warehouse operatives, supervisors and warehouse administration staff.


• Manage employee performance, attendance, training and development.


• Conduct regular one\-to\-one meetings and performance reviews.


• Support succession planning and talent development within the warehouse function.

Inventory \& Stock Management:

• Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained through robust stock control procedures.


• Oversee cycle counting and annual stock take initiatives.


• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.


• Implement processes to minimise stock loss and damage.

Health, Safety \& Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and Company policies.


• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.


• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits.


• Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained and operated safely.


• Manage incident reporting and corrective action processes.

Performance Management:

• Establish, measure and report warehouse KPIs.


• Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for improvement.


• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for senior management.


• Monitor labour productivity and warehouse costs.


• Drive initiatives that improve efficiency while maintaining service quality.

Customer Service \& Collaboration:

• Work closely with customer support, procurement and finance teams to ensure exceptional customer outcomes.


• Support the resolution of customer delivery and service issues.


• Collaborate across departments to improve processes and customer satisfaction.

Essential Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a warehouse management or distribution centre leadership role.


• Experience managing large warehouse teams in a fast\-paced environment.


• Proven experience managing third\-party logistics providers.


• Strong background in inventory management and warehouse systems.


• Experience delivering operational improvement projects.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree or professional qualification in supply chain, logistics, business or operations management.
