Warehouse Manager

We are seeking a proactive and results\-driven Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while driving operational excellence and team performance. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate teams, maintain high standards of safety and quality, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in a fast\-paced environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership \& People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse operatives and team leaders to achieve operational targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Plan and coordinate daily shift activities, allocating resources effectively to meet workload demands.
- Monitor individual and team performance, conducting performance reviews and providing ongoing feedback, training, and development opportunities.
- Manage attendance, performance, and employee relations matters in line with company policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high\-performing team culture through effective communication and employee engagement.
- Oversee the efficient, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure warehouse processes are executed in accordance with operational procedures and customer requirements.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation activities, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure the safe and effective operation of warehouse equipment and machinery, including forklift trucks where applicable.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost control.
- Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and non\-conformances, implementing corrective and preventative actions as required.
- Promote best practice in operational safety, risk management, and employee wellbeing.
- Act as the operational lead for the shift, resolving issues promptly and escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Produce accurate reports on shift performance, operational metrics, KPIs, and improvement actions.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments, including Transport, Logistics, Customer Service, and Operations, to ensure the seamless flow of goods and information.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to operational planning and performance reviews.
Qualifications \& Experience
- Minimum 2\-5 years' experience within a warehouse or logistics environment, with proven experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Qualification in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience of working within a fast\-paced distribution, manufacturing, or logistics operation.
Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
- Strong analytical and problem\-solving abilities, with the confidence to make sound decisions in a fast\-paced operational environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexible and resilient approach, with the ability to adapt to changing operational demands and work varying shift patterns, including evenings and weekends where required.
- Consistently achieving operational and service KPIs.
- Maintaining high levels of stock accuracy and warehouse productivity.
