Warehouse general support & cleaning operative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail\-oriented Warehouse general support \& cleanliness operative to maintain cleanliness and provide general housekeeping support within our fast\-paced logistics warehouse. The ideal candidate will support our operational team by ensuring a clean, safe, and well\-organized facility, including operating a waste compactor for waste management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning of warehouse floors and dispatching/receiving areas.


• Empty waste bins and recycling containers throughout the facility and process waste products accordingly.


• Safely operate a waste compactor to manage warehouse waste and packaging materials.


• Monitor and compact waste as needed to maintain a clear and organized workspace.


• Clean up spills promptly and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues.


• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.


• Provide general support to the warehouse operational team, as directed by the Facilities Manager.

There may be a need to support the general cleaner from time to time and also cover any sickness and annual leave.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in warehouse or industrial cleaning preferred.


• Requirement to operate a waste compactor and baler, for which training will be provided.


• Ability to lift to 20kg and perform physical labour for extended periods.


• Comfortable working in an environment in which Manual handling equipment and other machinery is in operation.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards


• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Logistics warehouse and yard area with varying temperatures and moderate noise levels


• Exposure to waste handling, compactor, baler and pallet truck operations (training and PPE provided)

Hours of attendance

11:00\-19:00

Week 1 Monday\-Friday

Week 2 Tuesday\-Saturday.

Pay: £25,350\.00 per year
