Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock, handling materials, and supporting the efficient operation of our warehouse facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with prior warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The position involves physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and materials handling, with a focus on safety and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading goods


• Managing inventory through the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate stock levels


• Organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility


• Handling materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations


• Assisting with shipping and receiving operations, including documentation and verification of deliveries


• Picker Packer duties


• Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse at all times


• Collaborating with team members to meet operational targets and deadlines

Requirements

• Prior experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates


• Valid forklift licence is highly desirable; however not essentail.


• Ability to perform lifting safely and effectively


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail


• Good physical fitness to handle materials handling and long periods of standing or walking within the warehouse


• Basic understanding of shipping \& receiving procedures


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment

Pay: £13\.05\-£13\.40 per hour
