Salary and hours
Salary: £13\.45 per hour, with an additional £5 enhancement payment for each completed night shift.
Hours: Week 1, 32 hours per week \- week 2, 42 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Place of work: Tayview House, Shore Road, Perth.
About the role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and practical Night Support Worker to help provide a safe, responsive and recovery\-focused supported housing service. Working overnight, you will support service users, respond calmly and appropriately to incidents or emergencies, and help maintain a secure and welcoming accommodation environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is committed to empowering people, promoting wellbeing, and supporting individuals to maintain their accommodation and take positive steps forward.
What you will do
- Provide responsive, person\-centered support to service users during the night.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour, by using deescalation skills and help ensure service users’ wellbeing.
- Deal effectively with incidents and emergencies that may arise out of hours.
- Support service users to keep their accommodation in good order.
- Collect and record service charges efficiently and accurately.
- Supervise medication in line with the organisation’s Medication Policy.
- Maintain clear records and contribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of activity.
- Support service user involvement and encourage participation in service delivery feedback.
- Work in line with CATH policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements, including SSSC registration expectations.
- Support the upkeep of the building by completing cleaning duties in line with established schedules.
You will be calm under pressure, able to work with compassion and professionalism, and committed to supporting people in an anti\-discriminatory and empowering way. You should be confident working independently overnight, while also communicating effectively with colleagues and contributing to a supportive team culture.
Knowledge or experience of supported housing, homelessness, recovery\-focused practice, social care or related services would be helpful. You will also need to be willing to register with the SSSC and keep up to date with registration requirements where applicable.
Working pattern
This post involves working on a rotational shift pattern, including waking nights, and contributing to cover arrangements where required.
