Residential Support Worker
We are looking for 2 full\-time, permanent waking night support workers for Bayleaf’s newest 2\-bedded children’s home in Alrewas, near Lichfield that looks after young people with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour.
Based on the excellent work we have been doing in our other children’s homes, this children’s home is being pushed by the local authority to open earlier than planned, which is by August 2026 and will be the 8th edition to Bayleaf Care children’s homes.
The salary is £17\.00 per hour with the option of overtime in the other children’s homes.
The home is situated 6 miles from Lichfield, 9 miles from Tamworth, 8 miles from Burton, 13 miles from Sutton Coldfield and 16 miles from both Stafford and Walsall
About the home:
This special property has been beautifully renovated, and although it has 4 bedrooms, it is designed to only offer 2 young people a home so they can be in a peaceful and spacious environment, a place where they have a sense of belonging and call their own.
Alrewas is a charming and historic village in Staffordshire, England, situated along the River Trent and the Trent and Mersey Canal which have walks. Located just north of Lichfield, it is globally renowned for housing the National Memorial Arboretum

In September 2026 we are also opening 2 special schools, one will be an SEMH school and the other a learning disability school
Each children’s home has their own permanent on\-site therapist and a pool car.
Job overview:
We provide 24\-hour care and support to the young people in our care. The main duties are to assist in the provision of a safe and homely environment during the nighttime, both individually and as part of a team. To help and support during the night to build relationships and provide a sense of stability for children residing within the home.
A caring and supportive attitude is essential for this role, and we welcome people that have experience with either adults or children with autism and associated behaviours that challenge.
The salary is £17 per hour.
This a full\-time role 160 hours per month.
Total salary is £32,640 plus the opportunity to do overtime at any of the 4 other children’s homes.
The shift pattern is 3 days on 3 days off and shifts start at 10\.00pm and finish 8am.
There is a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, fantastic career prospects as the company grows and you will be enrolled on the Level 3 diploma for residential childcare.
