Job Summary:
DB E.C.O. North America is seeking a highly analytical, operationally strong, and technology-oriented finance leader to oversee and continuously evolve the company’s finance operations, FP&A, reporting, governance, and business steering platform during a period of continued growth and organizational scaling.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Vice President, Finance Operations & FP&A serves as a key member of the Finance & Administration leadership team and acts as a strategic business partner to executive leadership across the organization.
The role is responsible for operating, scaling, and continuously improving the company’s finance operating model across FP&A, accounting operations, treasury, reporting, systems integration, and operational perfor-mance steering. The ideal candidate combines strong financial planning and operational finance capabilities with a modern systems, automation, and process-transformation mindset.
Operating within a dynamic project- and consulting-driven environment, the role plays a critical part in enabling scalable growth, operational transparency, disciplined financial management, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The company is seeking a leader who can further scale and continuously enhance a technology-enabled fi-nance and FP&A function capable of supporting the next phase of organizational growth through process standardization, systems integration, automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled workflows.
In addition, the role supports DB US Holding in a dual capacity with responsibility for treasury coordination, tax oversight, and financial governance across U.S. entities, requiring close collaboration with Deutsche Bahn Group headquarters in Germany.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Reporting & Business Steering
<ul>
<li>Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the organization</li>
<li>Ensure timely, reliable, and decision-relevant financial and operational reporting across all levels of the business</li>
<li>Maintain and continuously enhance the company’s financial data model, reporting structures, and KPI framework across ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central), Kantata, Navan, Power BI, and re-lated systems</li>
<li>Ensure consistent KPI definitions and performance measurement standards across the organization</li>
<li>Translate operational, project-level, and commercial data into actionable financial insights and management recommendations</li>
<li>Consolidate business inputs into a consistent financial performance view to support executive decision-making</li>
<li>Partner closely with operational leadership to improve business transparency, forecasting accuracy, productivity, and financial steering</li>
<li>Lead and facilitate key governance forums, including Production Calls and Business Review Meetings, as structured platforms for operational and financial performance management</li>
<li>Continuously improve forecasting methodologies, reporting automation, management dashboards, and operational analytics capabilities</li>
</ul>
Accounting Operations, Close, Audit & Tax
<ul>
<li>Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records, reporting, and close processes</li>
<li>Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities under tight reporting timelines</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, governance requirements, and Deutsche Bahn Group policies</li>
<li>Coordinate and oversee financial audits and maintain ongoing audit readiness</li>
<li>Lead coordination of federal, state, and international tax reporting requirements in alignment with group standards</li>
<li>Oversee payroll accounting processes and related reconciliations in close coordination with HR</li>
<li>Continuously strengthen finance governance, controls, reporting quality, and process discipline across the organization</li>
<li>Support the ongoing evolution from person-dependent processes toward scalable and standardized finance operations</li>
</ul>
Treasury, Liquidity & Cash Management
<ul>
<li>Lead treasury operations across multiple U.S. entities, including banking relationships and cash management activities</li>
<li>Ensure cash flow visibility, liquidity planning, and disciplined working capital management</li>
<li>Drive cash conversion performance through alignment of project execution, billing, collections, and financial realization</li>
<li>Oversee AR, AP, WIP/unbilled management, and broader working capital optimization initiatives</li>
<li>Maintain robust payment controls, banking governance, and treasury-related compliance processes</li>
<li>Support automation and process improvement initiatives across treasury and finance operations</li>
</ul>
Systems, Data & Process Management
<ul>
<li>Lead the continuous development and integration of the company’s finance systems and reporting environment</li>
<li>Ensure end-to-end data integrity and consistency across the contract-to-cash lifecycle</li>
<li>Standardize and continuously improve finance processes across project management, ERP, reporting, billing, forecasting, and treasury workflows</li>
<li>Drive automation, scalability, operational efficiency, and process optimization initiatives across finance operations</li>
<li>Identify opportunities to leverage AI-enabled workflows, automation tools, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to improve reporting, forecasting, financial operations, and decision-making</li>
<li>Partner closely with IT and operational stakeholders to improve systems integration, reporting transparency, data consistency, and operational scalability</li>
<li>Help build a scalable finance operating platform capable of supporting continued organizational growth and increasing operational complexity</li>
</ul>
Finance Leadership & Operating Cadence
<ul>
<li>Lead, develop, and strengthen Accounting and FP&A teams</li>
<li>Establish scalable finance processes, governance structures, and operating cadence across the organi-zation</li>
<li>Define and maintain core finance routines including close, forecasting, reporting, governance forums, and management reviews</li>
<li>Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence</li>
<li>Build organizational leverage through process simplification, automation, technology utilization, and scalable operating models</li>
<li>Support organizational scaling through disciplined financial management and strong cross-functional partnership</li>

Group Reporting & International Coordination
