Volunteer – Ward Clerk

Help us to keep our ward running smoothly and efficiently by assisting with both administrative and practical tasks – so that we always offer a comforting welcome for patients and their families. We need volunteers to come in from 9am to 1pm or from 1pm to 5pm so if you can spare four hours a week, on a weekday, we’d love to hear from you.

Some of the things you’ll do

• greet patients, relatives, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner


• help with non\-clinical administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry


• take telephone calls and direct enquiries appropriately


• maintain and organise ward paperwork, records, and appointment information


• help prepare admission and discharge documentation


• general clerical tasks and stock checks


• organise ward stock supplies


• handle patient information confidentially at all times

You’ll get all the training you need but it’s important to have some IT and admin experience and good communication skills.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
