About the Opportunity
Join Ericsson’s Silicon Design team in Stockholm, where we develop the virtual platforms that enable software development and testing before the hardware is available.
Our Virtual Platform Development team is part of the Product Engineering Unit Silicon within Radio \& Transport Engineering. We build and maintain sophisticated virtual platforms that model Ericsson Radio Base Station hardware, enabling software teams to develop, integrate, and run regression testing in a pre\-silicon environment.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of C\+\+, software architecture, hardware modelling, and embedded systems—using modern tools and technologies to solve challenging engineering problems and accelerate product development.
What you will do
- Develop and integrate Transaction\-Level Modeling (TLM) / SystemC models of hardware components into our virtual platform and simulator.
- Model complex hardware behaviour in software, including processors, memories, interfaces, and other hardware components.
- Develop simulator features that enable earlier software development, integration, and regression testing.
- Work closely with software and hardware engineers and other stakeholders across Ericsson.
- Solve technical problems where specifications may be incomplete, evolving, or ambiguous.
- Take ownership of tasks and contribute independently while working closely with the team.
- Continuously improve our products, development processes, and technical capabilities.
- Build expertise across both software development and hardware architecture.
- Several years of professional experience in software design and development, with strong hands\-on C\+\+ development experience.
- Strong knowledge of object\-oriented design and C\+\+, including experience with C\+\+ templates.
- Hands\-on experience with SystemC/TLM and software\-based hardware modelling. This is an important part of the role.
- A strong understanding of hardware/software interaction and an interest in modelling complex hardware systems in software.
- A passion for code quality, clean software design, and maintainable solutions.
- Knowledge of Embedded Linux and experience using Linux as a software development platform.
- Experience with Python and/or Bash scripting, Git, and JIRA is a plus.
- Understanding of hardware concepts such as processors, DSPs, memories, hardware interfaces/protocols, interrupts, and GPIOs is highly valuable.
- Experience with open\-source software modelling is a plus.
- Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving specifications, taking initiative, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education.
