Venue Manager
Location: Crewe Market Hall
Hours: 40 hours per week including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Salary: £32,000 p.a. plus incentive
Job Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Venue Manager to support the day\-to\-day management of a busy events and hospitality venue.
The role will have a strong focus on events, taking responsibility for the planning and on\-site delivery of a varied events programme, alongside supporting operations, staffing, commercial performance and venue management.
The successful candidate will have a strong hospitality background, be confident managing live events and understand the commercial side of running a successful venue.
Job Description
The Venue Manager will:
● Support the overall day\-to\-day management of the venue.
● Take a lead role in the planning and delivery of events, including markets, food and drink festivals, live music, family events, corporate events, private parties, weddings and seasonal events.
● Manage event set\-up, live operation and breakdown.
● Coordinate entertainers, traders, suppliers and contractors.
● Produce event plans, schedules, risk assessments and relevant event documentation.
● Manage event staffing requirements and rotas.
● Ensure licensing, health \& safety and venue procedures are followed.
● Provide excellent customer service and confidently resolve issues during live events.
● Support the management of the hospitality operation.
● Monitor event revenue, costs and profitability.
● Understand basic P\&L, budgets, margins and commercial performance.
● Help control staffing and operational costs while identifying opportunities to increase revenue, footfall and customer spend.
● Review event performance and identify improvements for future events.
● Support event marketing across Facebook, Instagram and other digital channels, including event listings, promotional content, photography and video.
● Support ticket sales and promotional campaigns.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have strong hospitality and licensed venue experience, ideally with previous supervisory, assistant management or management responsibility.
They should be:
● Experienced in event planning and live event delivery.
● Confident in managing a busy hospitality environment.
● Organised and able to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
● Commercially minded with a basic understanding of budgets, P\&L, revenue, costs and profitability.
● Confident managing staff, rotas, suppliers and contractors.
● Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions during busy live events.
● Knowledgeable about licensing, health \& safety, risk assessments and event compliance.
● Customer\-focused with strong communication and problem\-solving skills.
● Flexible and prepared to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays in line with the events calendar.
● Comfortable using social media to promote events and increase attendance.
● Creative, proactive and able to identify new opportunities to grow events and venue revenue.
Previous event management experience and experience within a licensed hospitality venue would be highly desirable.
