VEHICLE PREPARATION \& LOGISTICS ASSISTANT

Dace Motor Group – Greater Manchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Processing \& Driver to join Dace Motor Group, a highly successful and expanding family\-owned used car dealership group based in Greater Manchester.

With over 700 used vehicles across four sites, our vehicle preparation department plays an important role in ensuring every vehicle is processed, prepared and ready for sale as efficiently as possible.

We are looking for a hard\-working, organised and reliable individual to join our busy team and help manage the preparation of our vehicle stock from the moment it arrives with us through to completion.

This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, is comfortable dealing with garages and suppliers, and is not afraid to get stuck in.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for helping manage the day\-to\-day processing and preparation of our vehicles.

You will work closely with the wider team, garages, bodyshops and suppliers to ensure vehicles move through the preparation process efficiently and within the required timescales.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Booking in new stock as it arrives.

  • Carrying out initial checks on vehicles.

  • Identifying and recording any damage or mechanical issues.

  • Creating accurate damage and mechanical reports.

  • Allocating preparation work to appropriate garages and suppliers.

  • Chasing garages and bodyshops for updates and completion dates.

  • Managing the progress of vehicles throughout the preparation process.

  • Sourcing parts and placing orders where required.

  • Arranging and completing the collection and delivery of vehicles to and from garages.

  • Keeping accurate records of vehicle movements and preparation work.

  • Communicating with suppliers and resolving any issues that arise.

  • Ensuring vehicles are moved through the preparation process as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  • Helping to keep the compound and forecourt organised, clean and tidy.

  • Working closely with the sales and management teams to ensure vehicles are ready when required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident communicating with garages, suppliers and colleagues.

  • Computer literate and comfortable keeping accurate records.

  • Proactive, with the ability to identify problems and find solutions.

  • Flexible and willing to get involved wherever required.

  • A confident and responsible driver.
Previous experience within the motor trade, vehicle preparation, vehicle logistics or a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
