Van Driver required immediately for an ongoing position in Tamworth. Pure Staff are recruiting for a Van Driver working for a well-established national distributor of heating, plumbing and trade supplies based in Tamworth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and customer-focused driver looking for ongoing work with a company that supplies essential products to both trade and residential customers across the region. The successful Van Driver will be responsible for completing multi-drop deliveries, representing the business professionally and ensuring products are delivered safely and efficiently. This role offers consistent hours, regular work and the opportunity to work with a respected organisation within the wholesale and distribution sector.
Pay and Hours
- £12.71 per hour (plus paid annual leave worth an additional £1.53 per hour)
- Monday to Friday ongoing work
- 06:00 start times
- 8-10 hour shifts
- Weekly pay (Thursday evenings / Friday mornings)
- Completing multi-drop deliveries to commercial and residential customers
- Delivering a range of heating, plumbing and trade products
- Heavy routes may involve 6 to 8 drops consisting of boilers and radiators
- Lighter routes may involve 14 to 20 drops of plumbing and trade supplies including pipework and fittings
- Loading, checking and securing goods before departure
- Using manual handling equipment provided to safely move products
- Completing delivery paperwork and electronic proof of delivery records
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Maintaining a clean and roadworthy vehicle
- Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
- Following all road transport, health and safety and company procedures
- Full UK Category B Driving Licence
- Previous commercial van driving experience preferred
- Experience carrying out multi-drop deliveries
- Comfortable driving a 3.5T vehicle
- Physically capable of loading and unloading goods
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable and punctual attitude
- Maximum of 6 penalty points
- No DD, DR or IN convictions
- Strong focus on safety and compliance
