Avencia are working with a growing insurance business to recruit Underwriting Support Assistants to join a Leeds-based underwriting support team.
You don't need previous underwriting experience. Whether your background is in insurance, claims, banking, financial services, customer service, administration or operations, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
The Role You'll provide operational and entry-level underwriting support across a range of specialist insurance classes, working closely with Underwriters, Brokers, Claims, Finance and other areas of the business.
The team plays an important role in helping Underwriters manage their workload, keep new business and renewals moving and deliver a high level of service to brokers and customers.
What You'll Be Doing: No two days will be exactly the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Underwriters with a variety of operational and administrative tasks
- Processing and maintaining accurate insurance information
- Preparing and issuing policy documentation
- Creating and amending insurance quotes
- Managing tasks and workflows through Dynamics 365
- Requesting, reviewing and tracking survey reports
- Managing diaries and following up outstanding actions
- Responding to broker and internal enquiries via phone and email
- Reviewing information and identifying missing or incomplete details
- Supporting renewal activity and helping Underwriters manage their pipelines
- Working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance and other internal teams

Working Pattern: The role is based in Leeds with a hybrid working pattern of three days in the office each week, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. During your first month, you'll be office-based five days a week to support your training and development.
