UI Designer - Maternity Cover
We're looking for a UI Designer to join our Creative \& Design team on an 11\-month maternity cover, starting mid\-August. You'll work closely with our front\-end developers, our in\-house UX designer, our graphic designer, and the art director, so this is a UI role with proper creative and technical company around it, not a solo seat.
We're a creative team that's increasingly building AI into how we work, and we'd love this hire to be part of that. You don't need to be an AI power user on day one, but we're hoping for someone who's genuinely curious, already experimenting with tools like Cursor, Claude, Midjourney, or Figma Make, and excited to push that further with us.
What you'll be doing
You'll design web interfaces end to end, maintain and evolve our design system, and ship polished, on\-brand UI. You'll partner with UX on flows and structure, hand off cleanly to front\-end, and stay aligned with the graphic designer and art director on visual direction. Where it makes sense, you'll prototype in code, use AI to explore visual directions, and bring new ways of working into the wider team.
What we're hoping you bring
- 3\+ years of UI design experience on digital products with real design systems
- Strong portfolio showing product UI work, both polished surfaces and the systems behind them
- Curiosity about AI tools and an honest sense of where they help your work and where they don't
- Fluency in Figma, including components, variants, auto\-layout, tokens and design systems
- Solid grasp of accessibility, responsive design, and design\-to\-dev handoff
- A pragmatic, collaborative attitude. Happy to iterate, take feedback, and make calls
- An established AI\-augmented workflow you can talk about in detail
- Comfort prototyping in code, or directing AI tools to do it for you
- Contributing to or scaling a design system from scratch
- Background in travel, e\-commerce, or consumer\-facing digital products
- Light motion or front\-end skills
Send your CV and portfolio by June 15th. In your application, tell us briefly how AI shows up in your work today, even if that's just early experiments.
This is a mid\-level role and the compensation reflects that.
