We build AI\-enabled drones. We are a small engineering team, and the person who takes this role will have their hands on the aircraft every week.

You will build and integrate our aircraft end to end: airframe assembly, propulsion, avionics, wiring and flight testing. You will see a design go from parts on a bench to an aircraft flying a mission, and you will be the one holding the soldering iron and the controller when it does.

Day to day you will:

  • Design, assemble and integrate airframes, propulsion and avionics.

  • Wire and solder flight\-critical harnesses and electronics.

  • Set up, tune and troubleshoot flight controllers.

  • Plan and run flight tests, then analyse the logs and fix what they tell you.

  • Keep build documentation, bills of materials and test records in order.
Essential:
  • Hands\-on experience building and integrating multirotor or fixed\-wing aircraft, whether professionally, through a university competition team such as the IMechE UAS Challenge, or through serious personal builds.

  • Practical experience with flight\-controller stacks such as ArduPilot, PX4, Pixhawk or Betaflight, including setup, tuning and log analysis.

  • Confident soldering and wiring of small electronics.

  • A methodical approach to testing, and to recording what you did.

  • Right to work in the UK. We are not able to sponsor visas for this role.

  • Able to work on site in Aylesbury.
Nice to have:
  • CAA A2 Certificate of Competency or General VLOS Certificate.

  • CAD

  • Python or C\+\+, for test tooling, log analysis or onboard software.

  • Composites, 3D printing or machining.

  • Payload integration such as cameras or thermal sensors.
We care about what you have built, not which degree you hold. If you have flown aircraft you built yourself, tell us about them.

Send your CV and a short description of a drone you have built or worked on: what it was, what you were responsible for, and what went wrong the first time you flew it.

Pay: £40,000\.00\-£50,000\.00 per year

Benefits:

  • On\-site parking
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Application question(s):
  • Which flight controller software have you used hands\-on (for example ArduPilot, PX4, Betaflight), and on what aircraft?
Experience:
  • drone or UAV build and integration: 3 years (preferred)
Work authorisation:
  • United Kingdom (required)
Work Location: In person
