Transport Supervisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail\-oriented Transport Supervisor to oversee and coordinate transportation activities within our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the movement of goods, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimising supply chain efficiency. The position involves working closely with various departments to streamline shipping, receiving, and overall transportation processes using advanced management systems.

Duties

• Supervise daily transportation operations, including scheduling and routing of deliveries and pickups


• Utilise transportation management systems (TMS) such as SyteLine and AS400 to plan, track, and optimise logistics activities


• Coordinate with third\-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contractual agreements


• Monitor shipping and receiving processes to maintain accuracy in data entry and inventory records


• Analyse transportation data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements for cost reduction and service enhancement


• Oversee staff involved in shipping \& receiving, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols


• Maintain clear communication with drivers, warehouse staff, and external partners via phone etiquette and professional correspondence


• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all transportation activities


• Prepare reports on transportation performance metrics for management review

Requirements

• Proven experience in transportation management systems (TMS), logistics, or supply chain roles


• Strong understanding of shipping \& receiving procedures, data entry, and analysis skills


• Familiarity with AS400, SyteLine, and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is highly desirable


• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette


• Proficiency in data entry, typing skills, and utilisation of analysis tools for operational optimisation


• Knowledge of 3PL operations and supply chain management principles


• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast\-paced environment


• Organised approach with keen attention to detail and problem\-solving abilities


• Relevant qualifications or certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous

Pay: £24,644\.10\-£42,000\.00 per year
