We are looking for a Full Time Transport Shift Manager to join our team in Milton Keynes.

As a Transport Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the day\-to\-day transport operations at the site, ensuring the operation is running smoothly, and supporting the Transport Operation Manager with a variety of tasks that add value to the operation.

Salary: £40,000

Hours: 42\.5 hours per week

Working pattern: 4 on / 4 off shift pattern 6\.00am to 6\.00pm

Location: Milton Keynes, MK4 3FU

What you’ll do:

• Maintaining a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency and subcontractors


• Own the recruitment, induction, absence management, well\-being meetings \& 121s process, including disciplinaries, grievances and investigations within the transport department


• Ensuring effective communication within the transport teams through meetings and briefings


• Responsible for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI's

• Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of a transport function within the FMCG Distribution Industry


• A background operating at a management level is a must


• Transport CPC – desirable


• A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas


• Excellent team management skill for developing you team


• An analytical mind\-set


• Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future


• You'll come in to contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial
