Transport Planner

Your Responsibilities:

• Frontline Transportation: Plan and coordinate transport routing to meet order requirements in line with company KPIs, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation


• Order Fulfilment: Liaise with drivers throughout the day to ensure timely delivery of customer orders


• Hire Fleet Management: Review the daybook daily to maximise the use of our hire fleet and exchange cross\-hires with our own fleet when beneficial


• Problem\-Solving: Use logistics principles to address challenges efficiently


• Engineering Coordination: Collaborate with engineering to update machine requirements for bookings


• Customer Interaction: Handle calls and emails professionally, providing excellent customer service


• Team Collaboration: Work with colleagues across departments to deliver effective customer solutions


• Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to Star Platforms’ quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and industry standards

What We’re Looking For:

• Planning Expertise: Demonstrated operational or logistics planning ability, preferrably within the hire industry (training provided)


• Communication Skills: A confident, professional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with internal and external contacts


• Problem Solver: Proactive and detail\-oriented with a “can\-do” attitude


• Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of transport planning and logistics as good UK geographical knowledge


• Tech \& System Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic mathematics for tasks such as truckload calculations and customer quotations


• Organised Multi\-Tasker: Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy office environment while maintaining high attention to detail
